Apple Crisp
I love this Apple Crisp! Toasting the pecans makes a huge difference. I have to say this is one of our favorite breakfasts!! Why not?! Especially when it's full of good, wholesome ingredients like apples, rolled oats, whole wheat flour and apples!
Apple Crisp
1. To make the apple mixture, place the following in a large bowl and mix until well coated:
- 6-8 cups apples, thinly sliced
- Juice from 1 lemon
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon allspice
2. To make the topping, place the following in a medium bowl and combine until crumbly. It should look like wet sand:
- 1 cup oatmeal, rolled
- 1 cup pecans, chopped and toasted
- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
3. Place apple mixture in a 9x12 baking dish. Sprinkle the topping over the apples evenly. Bake for 45 minutes at 350°F, or until apples are soft when pierced with a toothpick. Remove from oven and serve hot, warm or cold.
Postre de Manzana
1. Juntar lo siguiente y mezclar hasta que esté bien mezclado:
- 6-8 tazas de manzanas, sin pelar y en rebanadas delgadas
- Jugo de un Limón
- ¼ taza de miel de “maple”
- 1 cucharadita de canela, molida
- ½ cucharadita de “allspice”
2. Mezclar lo siguiente en otro recipiente y mezclar bien:
- 1 taza de hojuelas de avena (no la rápida)
- 1 taza de nueces, picadas y tostadas
- ½ taza de harina integral
- ½ taza de mantequilla no hidrogenada
- ¼ taza de azucar morena
- 1 cucharadita de canela, molida
- ¼ cucharadita de “allspice”
- ¼ cucharadita de nuez moscada, molida
- ¼ cucharadita de sal
